Ceiling to floor rod display installation:

Separate the ceiling & floor fittings from the brass screw mounts concealed inside their chrome shell
Screw the first brass mount into the top/ceiling, and reattach it's chrome shell
Making sure it's aligned, do the same for the floor fitting except but do not reattach it's chrome cap
Measure and cut rod to size, making sure the male-screw thread is on the length you are using
The ceiling fittings hole has a screw thread inside, screw your rod into this hole using it's male-screw thread
Pass the free end of the rod through the floor fixings chrome cap, and reattach it to it's brass screw mount
